Greetings may I please introduce myself. I am watercolour artist by training but have ‘fallen in love’ with this form of artistic expression. Painting with wax is not a new or avant-garde form of creating stunning artwork. Our ancestors, the cavemen, mixed coloured earth and natural pigment with animal fats to create their cave paintings.

Today we usually use beeswax mixed with a highly concentrated pigment to create this form of ‘painting’. These blocks of waxes are applied to the non absorbent card using a small heated iron, although a hot stylus, brush or air gun can be used for certain effects. The melted wax is then ‘moved’ over the surface producing the abstract designs you see here. I paint in a wide variety of colours in fantasy, abstract and landscape designs.

Owning one of my paintings is not the end of the matter. Each one of us will see different ‘things’ within each painting, depending on our depth of imagination or mood. Look into any wax picture and you will discover different shapes, forms, creatures, be they modern like a automobile or mystic like a dragon or troll. It is in each individual’s imagination what he/she discovers. It is for this reason that I rarely title any picture. One day I see a pixie in a forest and an hour later my imagination sees a castle in a wilderness. Some customers will even ‘hang my pictures upside down because they ‘see’ things within that I cannot see. It is quite common to hang the pictures in your own way every few weeks to discover different effects within. Certainly purchasing one of my paintings is a ‘voyage of discovery’.

The finished painting can never be copied exactly, no matter how skilled the artist, so each painting is a true original that can never be repeated or copied, so each creation is unique.

I have made a conscious decision to paint in relatively small format in order to price my work modestly to allow as many people as possible to enjoy these fascinating paintings.

My one main aim in life is to help the homeless and needy. I am in the process of starting an art group in my town for all the lonely and homeless. So that they may express themselves through art. This will, I know, give them a sense of achievement. Something lost to them when living rough. (I know this personally because I was one of those people and my art has saved me from the abyss). I will be donating a considerable amount of my earnings to the homeless from each picture sold.

Sizes

Each painting will be mounted on good quality white mountboard, ready to be framed in a standard shop bought frame. All measurements are in millimetres and are closely approximate.
